New Website for Jackson-Area Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Councils and Assembly in the area are setting up a website to post news and events, and to use as a place to share information with all Knights in the area.

The councils collaberate on many events and projects each year and this website will be a focal point of those activities.  Knights that are interested in supporting fundraising efforts of the area councils will find events such as breakfasts, dinners, and other things they can do to support that council.

We are also incorportating a personal subscription system which will deliver newsletters and event notices to those who sign up.  The system will allow them to specify what type of information and from which councils.

We welcome your comments.

2009 – 2010 International Service Project Award

The Jackson-Area Knights of Columbus Councils are the proud recipient of the Fourth Place Pro-Life Activities award for the Ultrasound, an Instrument of Life Program. As Supreme’s Ultrasound Program began, councils in Jackson County, led by DD Stephen Artz, began the process of collecting funds so a new Ultrasound machine could be delivered to a deserving Pro-life clinic, Center for Women in Jackson with the help of matching funds from Supreme. Close to $13,000 was collected from Jackson County and area Councils for the machine that was dedicated on July 25, 2009. This was the 3rd machine placed Order-wide and the 1st of what is now 8 Ultrasound machines placed in the State of Michigan by our Knights.

The award was presented on October 20, 2010 on behalf of all area councils after the 6:00 p.m. Mass at Queen’s. Representatives from the State and Supreme councils attended along with many Knights from the area councils. Fr. Tim celebrated the Mass and the 4th Degree Color Guard attended. Afterwards there was a reception in the Social Center.
